Price Reference

Working list of confirmed in-canon prices, kept as a calibration reference when inventing new prices for equipment, goods, wages, or services. Not exhaustive — pull more data points from canon/equipment/cards/ and similar sources as needed, and add them here.

Technological context

Pricing across this setting is shaped by widespread, mature 3D printing / additive manufacturing:

  • Structural & mechanical components are comparatively cheap. Printing removes most of the tooling and labor cost normally associated with complex mechanical parts — what would be an expensive custom structure or mechanism elsewhere is routine and low-cost here.
  • Simple electronics are comparatively cheap for the same reason — mass, automated, low-marginal-cost production.
  • In construction, raw building/shell cost is cheap relative to fit-out. 3D printing extends to construction itself, so erecting a structure is a small fraction of a project’s cost; the expensive part is the equipment and systems fitted into it (which may themselves be factory/printed, but are still the cost driver — see the reactor/equipment lines in the shipyard example below, which dwarf the hull cost).

When inventing a new price, weight it toward “structure/hull/building is cheap, equipment/electronics/systems are where the money goes” unless there’s a specific reason (exotic material, low production volume, cutting-edge tech) to break that pattern.

How to add an entry

- **Name** (`EQUIP_ID`) — unit cost CURRENCY — one-line category/role note — [source](relative/path.md)
  • Group entries by rough category (vehicles, ships, small arms, wages, goods, services, …).
  • Within a category, order low to high cost — it makes the scale easier to eyeball.
  • Always include currency; do not assume AC (Artalan Credit) applies outside Artalan-sourced items — other polities use their own currencies (see canon/states/STATE_*.md).
  • Keep notes short; the source link is where the real detail lives.
  • Cross-manufacturer comparison convention: when a price spans multiple producers/states (e.g. shuttle or warhead cost comparisons), default to CC (Commonwealth Credit) as the common unit, and only use AC for a figure specifically sourced to Artalan.
  • A tight multi-producer comparison (e.g. cost by manufacturer) may use a small markdown table instead of bullets — keep it next to a bullet note giving the shared currency/unit.
  • Exchange rate: 1 AC ≈ 1 CC — treat AC and CC figures as directly comparable without conversion.
  • Artalan pricing bias, refined: Artalan is cheaper only where it plays to the mechanical/simple-electronics/domestic-production strength described in Technological context — ground vehicles, structural components, basic gear. For anything requiring imported advanced electronics (EW/sensor systems, complex avionics), Artalan is pricier than the general/foreign figure, not cheaper — see the note under Defensive platforms. When calibrating a new Artalan price, ask “is this domestically-buildable mechanical/simple-electronic hardware, or does it need imported high-end electronics?” before assuming the discount applies.

Not yet tied to a specific canon card.

  • Czechium — 25 000 000 CC/kg — generator fuel; typically sold in batches of 1 000 pellets

Shuttles / promy (CC unless noted)

Not yet tied to a specific canon card. Ranges reflect variation across manufacturers; per-manufacturer figures noted where given.

  • Small civilian shuttle (mały prom cywilny) — 1.5–2.5 mln CC
  • Small military shuttle (mały prom wojskowy) — 3–4 mln CC (Nilus: 2.5 mln CC / Newton: 4 mln CC)
  • Large military shuttle (duży prom wojskowy) — 5–7 mln CC
  • Large cargo shuttle, 500 t (duży prom towarowy) — 20–40 mln CC
  • Large military shuttle, Sowa class (duży prom wojskowy klasy Sowa) — 25–30 mln CC — stealth variant, low emission profile, built for special operations; intentionally priced far above the baseline large military shuttle, not a data error

Nilus note: Nilus is an atmosphere-less system (no planets with an atmosphere), so its shuttles — including the small military shuttle above — are built without atmospheric-entry capability. That’s why the Nilus figure sits at the cheap end of its bracket: when comparing shuttle prices, check whether atmospheric capability is included before treating a low Nilus figure as a general baseline.

Defensive platforms (CC unless noted)

Not yet tied to a specific canon card. Artalan figures given separately in AC per the cross-manufacturer convention above.

  • Container launcher (wyrzutnia kontenerowa) — avg. 300 000 CC (Artalan: 250 000 AC)
  • EW satellite (satelita EW) — 4–6 mln CC (Artalan: 5–7 mln AC)
  • Large platform (EW + containers, or transshipment) — 6–12 mln CC (Artalan: 7–14 mln AC)

Exception to the Artalan-cheaper convention: EW satellite and large platform buck the usual pattern — Artalan is pricier than the general figure here, not cheaper. Reason: these are advanced-electronics/sensor systems, which Artalan imports rather than produces domestically. The “Artalan is cheaper” rule only holds for mechanical/structural items and simple electronics (see Technological context); anything requiring imported advanced electronics should be priced above the general range, not below.
